Privacy Policy
Last updated: July 18, 2026
Summary: Your rules, usage ledgers and family profiles stay on your device. Time Debt has no accounts, no ads and no tracking. The only data that leaves your device relates to subscription purchases, which are processed by Apple and verified through RevenueCat using an anonymous identifier.
What stays on your device
The following is stored locally on your iPhone (and in your device backups, which you control) and is never transmitted to us or anyone else:
- Your plans, allowances, schedules and bedtime windows
- Daily ledgers: borrowing, repayment, debt and Flex Minutes
- Family profiles (nicknames only), requests, decisions, points and rewards
- Your goal selection and onboarding answers
- The local reliability log (component events such as “shield applied” — never app names or content)
Screen Time data
Time Debt uses Apple's Family Controls and Screen Time frameworks. Apple deliberately gives apps opaque tokens for the apps and categories you select. This means Time Debt cannot see which apps you chose, what you do inside them, your messages, photos, contacts or location. Enforcement happens inside Apple's system on your device.
What leaves your device
Purchases
If you subscribe, the transaction is processed entirely by Apple under Apple's own privacy policy. To verify your subscription and unlock Pro features, the app communicates with RevenueCat, our subscription infrastructure provider, using a randomly generated anonymous identifier and the purchase receipt. This includes basic device information (such as iOS version and locale) needed for receipt validation. It never includes your rules, usage, goals, family information or anything about your Screen Time.
Apple analytics
If you have enabled “Share With App Developers” in iOS settings, Apple may share aggregated crash reports and statistics with us. This is controlled by you in iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Analytics, and governed by Apple's policy.
What we never do
- No advertising, ad networks or data brokers
- No third-party analytics or tracking SDKs
- No selling or sharing of personal data — we have essentially none to sell
- No accounts, emails or passwords required to use the app
Children
Family features are designed for data minimization: profiles use nicknames only — no real names, birthdays, photos or accounts. All family data stays on the devices where it was created. Parents configure and control family features; Time Debt does not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Your choices
- Delete everything: deleting the app removes all local data (unless kept in your own device backup).
- Revoke enforcement: Screen Time permission can be withdrawn anytime in iOS Settings.
- Subscriptions: manage or cancel in iOS Settings → Apple Account → Subscriptions.
- Notifications: fully optional and controlled in iOS Settings.
