The mechanic

A fair deal with your future self

Time Debt doesn't make limits harder. It makes ignoring them honest.

1

Your allowance ring

Each plan protects the apps you choose with a daily minute budget, enforced by Apple's Screen Time shields. The Today screen shows one ring: what's left, what's borrowed, what tomorrow looks like.

2

Borrowing, with guardrails

When the limit hits and today genuinely needs more, borrow from tomorrow. Built-in safety: borrowing is capped (about a quarter of your allowance), tomorrow never drops below a safe floor, protected bedtime hours refuse borrowing entirely, and only one session runs at a time.

3

Automatic repayment

At the day rollover, borrowed minutes become debt and tomorrow's allowance shrinks by exactly that amount — applied exactly once, recorded in a per-day ledger you can inspect. End a session early and unused minutes go straight back.

4

Stopping pays too

Stop on time and tomorrow stays whole. Finish under budget, stop early at the limit, or complete a focus session and you earn Flex Minutes — a small buffer you control, so good days build slack instead of guilt.

The math, in the open

Today's allowance60 minutes
You borrow+10 minutes (within your cap)
Tonight at rollover10 minutes of Time Debt is recorded
Tomorrow starts with60 − 10 = 50 minutes
Tomorrow's floorNever below your minimum (e.g. 30 minutes)

With Individual Pro, repayment can also spread across days — half over two days, or thirds over three — so one late night doesn't flatten tomorrow.

Emergency access

One tap removes every shield until tomorrow. Free, unlimited by money, available every single day. A safety tool is not a sales opportunity.

Preview Mode

No Screen Time permission yet? Everything still works — plans, borrowing math, history — clearly labelled as preview until real enforcement is granted.

Built to not lose count

Force-quit, restart, time-zone change, dead battery mid-session — the ledger recovers and records honestly. Exactly-once debt is the whole product.
