Screen-time cost calculator
30 minutes of discretionary screen time a day adds up to 3.5 hours a week and about 183 hours a year. Enter your own estimate to see your figures. This is arithmetic on your estimate, not a measurement.
Simple arithmetic: minutes × 7 ÷ 60 per week, minutes × 365 ÷ 60 per year. Less screen time does not automatically mean better sleep, mood or productivity.
Using the result well
The goal is not guilt. Most screen time is useful. The number simply shows what small daily habits add up to, so you can decide whether a limit is worth setting.
To see your measured usage, open Settings › Screen Time on your iPhone. Then pick a realistic allowance and decide what should happen when you want more. The borrowing calculator shows how Time Debt handles that.
